E. Colvin Hassenplug-Active a a member of the dental profession inNorthumberland County, Pennsylvania, E.Colvin Hassenplug, of Milton, isnot only prominent as a dental surgeon in his community but he is alsooutstanding as a generous and public spirited citizen, being prominent inall civic activities and supporting all organizations working for theprosperity and well-bieng if city, county and Commonwealth.
E. Colvin Hassenplug was born at Milton, Northumberland County,Pennsylvania, on December 15 1902, the son of William and Dora (Colvin)Hassenplug, prominent for many years in the business and civic life ofMilton, was general manager of the Reid Tobacco Company of Milton, aposition which he occupied until his death.
After attending the elementary and grammar schools of Milton andgraduating from Milton High School as a member of the class of 1920,E,Colvin Hassenplug entered Bucknell University and graduated from thatinstituition in 1924 with his academic degree of Bachelor of Arts. Thenhaving selected the dental profession for his career, he entered theDental School of the University of Pittsburgh, graduating as a member ofthe class of 1929, with his professional degreeof Doctor of DentalSurgery. Returning to Milton after thus completing his education, Dr.Hassenplug established himself in the practice of his profession, openingan office in 1929 which he maintained through the present time andbecoming one of the leading dental surgeons in Milton. He is a pastpresident of Lycoming Dental Society, the American Dental Society, andthe Tri-County Dental Society. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church ofMilton and belonging to the Milton Lions Club, which he served aspresident, the doctor, who belongs to Milton Lodge, Benevolent andProtective order of Elks, is a 32nd degree member of the Masonicfraternity, his memberships in the order's bodies including Milton Lodge,Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, of which he is Past Master, and theShrine at Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
