house painting, completed in Rockville, then located to Eugine,Vermillion Co.

1861 MAR 22: away at war when wife died bearing daughter Mary Adaline;
"child was taken in by a step-sister of the father, Mrs. Frances A. Meyers
[Myers]; from daughter Mary Adaline's Obit

1862 Dec 18 [Reference #1] promoted to Seargent Major
1862 Dec 31 Stone river, severely wounded by a minnie ball in the leftankle
1863 Dec after battle of Missionary Ridge, was furloughed for 20 days
1864 Sep mustered out of service, made quartermaster of sixth district ofIN
1865 Jun Returned to Plymouth to resume housepainting, abandoned due to
wounded leg. Continued carriage and sign painting, but quit the shopowing to
the extra amount of poison inhaled by being confined to the shop
1874-78 Elected city treasurer of Plymouth, IN
1878-82 accepted position of Deputy sheriff of Marshall co
1883 became member of business firm dealing in sash, doors and blinds,building
material, etc.
